Can't tell my wife I F...it up she'll kill me...
Is it cheaper buying a new one chiped or haveing this one repaired and chiped?

hi m8 are u 100%sure the chip is fry i did this with my machine and caught
a wire and it works fine.
with the xbox plug in then turn it on give it a couple of seconds for it to
kick in have u set the bios up on the chip
and all so make sure u plugged the board that sites inside the xbox at the
front
it be very weird if u have blown the chip this way for sure
go throu all the wires with a test meter or infact start again from scratch
all so its worth trying turn the xbox on then off quick and see if it boots up
then

backup2k1(the name u can trust)

1)check the wiring on the chip

2)make sure the board that sit in the front of the xbox is pushed right down

3)check all connections again

4)try again and solder the modchip in

First of all - Did you remove the mod chip and all wiring and test. Second - Buy a new one at a store that has a lenient return policy (like Curcuit City), swap MBs and HDDs and then return the new one with you MB in it... Just make sure you are REAL careful with all the packaging! It worked for me after I accidentally ripped off a solder point on my first try. :-)

Because your post has been moved to the Xbox modchip help forum instead of being in the backup forum.

I also edited your post since we don't like advertising sites. It's just not fair to the other sellers/installers.

Hey man, heres what to do, and its much cheaper. Buy a brand new xbox. Then the next day just put in the broken xbox in the case and return ur messed up xbox in there. Problem solved. U get a new one fer free. Microsoft is rich as it is. Ive never done that but i my friend did and it worked flawlessy. As fer the chip, just tell the website what happened, tell them they game u a messes up one. Theyll understand. Remember, the customer is always right:)
