I have just bought a brand new ps2 with a china messiah in it ?
when i bought it was told would play anything, I have now recieved the machine and with it I was given 4 dvd-r games and they wont work all I get is a grey screen saying no data.
so i take it this means it cannot play the dvd-r games that came with it.
Is there a boot disc say dvd x or somthing that may help never had anything to do with ps2 before so know nothing any help would be appreciated thanks tmcloud@hotmail.com

What was your boot method? I bet you didn't follow the directions for that.....so
Try the 'search this forum' box & put in a key word for the search, you'll have your answer.

Man that sucks. Nothing worse that getting a new machine that doesn't do what it says its supposed to do. Did you try the old swap method with an original PS2 game with a full TOC (ex. DOA Hardcore)?

did you do the double reset thingy

with dvd-r and messiah you need to double tap the reset button quickly for the messiah chip to know to boot the correct disc format..

OKay I have tried the double tap on the reset button but all i get is a grey screen saying no data.
even mailed the makers of the chip and they say the wires used to put the chip to the board might be to long and that stops it from workign with dvd-r so thinK Imay have to ask for a refund thanks for the help Tmcloud.

why dont you phone the guy who sold it to you its his fault if it dont work,, most pree chipped ps2 come with a small guarntee like 3 mounths.

no point in opening it your self if you have payed someone to chip it!!!!!
