hi...i downloaded dark summit from a site in the iso folder (cheers toofan, top work m8! ) extracted it to a 682mb iso that just won't fit on on a 650mb cdrw! ( for me atleast!)

so, here's how i got it burnt to a 650mb cdrw and booting up nice in my box...

1)use 'xiso' to extract all files to a temp folder

2) use a hexeditor to quickly downsize the 'credits.bik' in the 'movies' folder from 49mb to around 6kb...just chop out the start and paste it into a new file...save as 'credits.bik' in ur 'movies' folder...after moving the other 49mb file out of course!

3)then use 'xiso' to re-build the iso and burn with 'nero' or wotever.. to a 650mb- cdrw...job's a good'un!

playing it now...btw, it's an 'alright' -to- ' fairly sh1t' game, but hey!... ;-)

Or you could always buy a cdr that is 700 mb :D but hey! I like your work, I am currently working on champ manager with all the stadiums as background pics for all the right teams, sort of on the same lines! I have done it, but the xbox wont read my disc now!!! I think I need to iso it u again, I will try again in the morning!

700 meg CDRW are about the same price as 650 meg, is there any reason you dont want to use these? nearly all of the cd rips i have for the xbox will only fit on to a 700 meg CDRW, might be worth investing in a few for the long run mate, just a thought.

Peace

700 MB cdrws are hard to find. :) but I sure liked the idea of downsizing credits and movies. That'll work great for people who try to fit their games on cd. making home made rips :)

Cal_G_UK, no real reason m8, other than... i got a shed load of traxdata silver x2 650mb cdrws (80 or so) but not even _one_ 700mb cdrw!, u are right of course!...i gotta get my cheapskate arse out and buy some 700mb cdrws...it's just that at the time i didn't have anything to burn the iso to when i'de finished d/l-ing it! (25 hours! with my crappy dial-up connection )...impatience crept in so i had a look to see wot i could get rid of to fit it on a 650mb....took about an hour and half to rip out plain files, figure out which file to chop, build an iso, and burn it...there u go :-)
