i was looking at the xcuter mod and it said someting about a ps2 add on so it got me thinking

PSX - probably, PS2 - no. "They" could probably get a PS2 emu running a couple pretty demos or something, but there's no chance in hell of emulating the PS2 entirely and running it's games on the XBox. VGS, Bleem! , or ePSXe, would all probably be not too hard to port to XBox.

yes PS2 EMULATION is possible. But it will be awhile before anything comes out because of how long it takes and legal issues and stuff. BUT PS2 games that can be emulated for XBOX can only be CD-R PS2 games not DVD-R games. SO YES IT CAN BE DONE. Basically any system can be emulated for xbox right now(DREAMCAST, PS2 CDR GAMES, PSX, GBA, ETC..) cause it acts just like a PC. Only one i am not sure of is the Gamecube. But i heard of mario sunshine trying to get burned at the moment cause it is a cdr game and its size is relatively small. But that is it for now.:p

I hope you are right Boarder Hopper, but I think you are hugely confused. It doesn't matter if its a dvd or a cdr, if the xbox isnt able to emulate a ps2 it wont regardless of size of game etc. The ps2 is a hefty machine alone with hard to emulate code, even thought the xbox is far superior I doubt it will be able to emulate it!

A wise man once told me nothing is impossible! Think that applies to everything in life including this situation. I think it is very possible, if Sony wanted to do it they could as they know the PS2 inside and out, as for a standard developer or hacker, maybee not. Time will tell

As a rule it takes 7-10 times as much proccessing power to emulate a system at full speed. The ps2 is somthing like a 294mhz cpu. Xbox is 733. And the PS2 processor is RISC, more efficient than CISC(intel). In a sentence, the xbox doesn't_have the proccessing power to emulate the PS2 at full speed.

Exactly. Don't talk unless you don't know what you're talking about, there will never be a PS2 emulator for the XBox, at least nothing that will ever play commercial games. Don't try to get anyone's hopes up because it is literally IMPOSSIBLE.

exactly...thats why you havent seen one for pc yet..as the 2 gig systems still most likely wouldnt be able to run at full speed ...

the n64 emu for xbox is a good example....im sure it could have sound if ya wanted to slow the framerates way down so the xbox could process it....it can only do so much...but n64 emu is a good sighn of maybe a psx emu on the way...thats more likely/possible

I think the XBox N64 emulator is only missing sound because of the soundchip on the box, the author might not be too familiar with it. The easiest part was probably the graphics core, since the XBox uses a GeForce 3. It should have sound and solid 60FPS framerate soon, Dadaelus is a very good N64 emulator and with a 733Mhz processor and the GF3, with no Windows running, it should be capable of great speed, with sound - that is, if the author hasn't given up on it since his private beta was leaked.

He probably hasn't, but I doubt we'll ever see another leak.

the PS2 and GCN will NEVER be emulated on the XBOX, I don't care how powerful the XBox is, those two will NEVER be emulated on it. The XBox is just not powerful enough to do it now. There is NO hope for it. Look at hot poorly the SNES emulator for the DC was and the DC is A LOT more powerful than the SNES, their graphics aren't even in the same arena, unlike the XBox and PS2. The DC will be VERY hard for the Xbox to emulate.
But I say that there will be a PSX emulator and a fully working N64 emulator soon.

No it can't or wont be able because Ps2 and Xbx have different specs and different consoled need their specs to run the games. If xbox was available to do so, than SONY would hit Microsoft with a big fat lawsuit.

Why do we need ps2 emulator as most of games that have been released on the Xbox has been ps2 conversions any way {me thinks}
