i was reading the other forum about the gamecube boot disc like the one dreamcast had but is it oficially announced that it works??? or is it like the other people who did phranks just to piss people off. i just want more info like the pricing of it and i also heard that some1 said nintendo is sueing the people who made it...LOL

So far it is just a commercial bootdisc used to play imports

they have came up with the copied games but i haven't heard yet about the boot disc

Its not really a bootdisc, all it can do it change the region of the console so it will play either US or Japanese games, thats all, but in the future it might be used to play backups if a way is found to copy the GC games onto mini dvdr.

and the price is under £20

in us dollars whats the price $40?

I didnt know it was coming out fot he US Gamecube, would be more limited wont it, not being able to play UK games but no one would want to do that anyway but Japanese games should play fine, also, to any person in the UK whos plans on buying freeloader, go to www.play.com and see their prices, Freeloader is £16.99 and Action Replay with does the same as Freeloader and more is only £17.99, £12 cheaper than in the shops, I have already pre-ordered mine, no where else will have it cheaper and only £1 more with free postage, you cant go wrong.

Has anyone got a DVD drive that reads sub data?

if your using a PC Try downloading "ddump" from this link http://www.geocities.com/ddumpfrontend/files/DDump110full.zip
and see if you can extract any data from a GCN disc using the securom mode extractor.
I was told it works BUT it cant extract all the disc.... only around 30/40% of it!
Its still interesting to know if it works coz my DVD doesnt read sub data!
