i hear that you can download a psx boot disc file and burn it to a cdr to make a psx boot disc. If this is true can someone tell me where to download this:furious:

IF i heard correctly it's for ps-one and you need a modded ps-one to actuallly use the boot-disk...

on a similar issue go to google and look for PSX-X-CHANGE v.2 that's the official boot disk for PSX ...

I have the bootcd but I do not have a psx to try it on. This is what it says in the text attachment that came with it.
'Smersh Console Division Presents the biggest breakthru on the PSX scene!

PSX-Boot CD: To use copied cd's with non-modded psx'es!

Some Kind Anonymous Person (I don't even know who it was) sent me a .ISO image
made with EZ CD Pro 2.1 for Windows 95 of the BootUp CD Used with the Yaroze!!
Then another kind anonymous person Cracked it for us! Get it here if you are
interested. Its about 800k zipped and 43 MEGS unzipped. Talk about compression!

For those of you who dont know ****, the yaroze is a playstation development
system, capable of running homemade cd's, first run this cd, then run your
homemade cd. Ofcouse the folks at playstation made a copy protection, so that
this CD could not run on any playstation without the special Yaroze keycard
(looks like a memory card), however this have been cracked :)

here's how to make this thing work:

1. Burn this image to a CD using Adaptec EZ CD Pro 2.1
2. Run this CD on your playstation
3. Insert and Play your copied cd's without needing a modded psx!
.. Repeat steps 2 and 3 each time you wish to play a copied CD.'

As I say, I haven't tried it.

I really doubt it will work. The boot sector thingy on PSX cd's can't be burned by a burner, and without that, you need a modchip to use that cd, which makes it kinda redundant

it wont work, you need an actual pressed cd in order for a boot disc to work, the only one that will work is that ps x-change thing.... any burnt boot disc is not going to work without a modchip, in which case it would be pointless, hope that saved you from wasting a cdr

PS1 and PSX require a hardware addon in order to play VCD's.

Yeah listen to these guys it doesn't work. That same type of attachment is found all over Peer 2 Peer swapping engines. Just go online and buy the actual cd that has the pressed information. The you can find some I am pretty sure at a good price on the buy sell trade forum.

As for playing VCD files on a PSX - Well, VCD is basically MPG - and usually the cut-scenes in some games are based around the MPG file format...there's a way of extracting the cut-scenes from Final Fantasy VII to MPG - So why shouldn't there be a way to alter an MPG file in order to burn it to a PSX so it can run? It wouldn't be VCD, but it would be similar.

Too much hassle though :)
