Hi all, recently I have seen something strange happen when burning cd's.

I have not installed/uninstalled anything (software or hardware) and I haven't even changed any settings. It happens when I am burning audio, data or even (S)VCD's and it doesn't matter what program I use to burn. The buffer level always goes to 0, but the buffer underrun protection doesn't seem to kick in at all, but the cd's burn fine  I have used Nero and Easy CD Creator and they each do this. I looked at Nero's log too, and I saw no error messages in there. It also seems strange because the cd doesn't take any longer to burn than it did before I had this problem. I defragged my computer today, so nothing there. I also checked the whole DMA thingy, and its the same as it was originally. I even tried changing media, but same problem. My aspi layer is also up to date ;)

It's really more annoying than anything, but I was hoping if anyone could figure out what was wrong with my system. Thanks in advance

Alright, I did some snooping around on the internet and I found a review of my cd burner which can be found here:

http://www.cdrlabs.com/reviews/index.php?reviewid=95&page=Features

In that review, they showed this picture of the "select recorder" dialog in Nero

http://dcm386.homestead.com/files/8mbbuffer.jpg

It lists the buffer size as 8291 KB, and the author of the review mentions the buffer size is 8 MB. However, if I look at the same dialog in Nero on my computer, it looks like this:

The buffer is MUCH smaller!!

Does anyone know why this could be?? I am currently using Nero 5.5.7.8 and I have the newest ASPI layer installed too.

Any help would be great :)

EDIT:
--------
Oh yeah, I have the OEM version of the burner if that is of any consequence
