I would uninstall/reinstall the software and see if this sorts it.

Nero and EasyCD never liked each other much in the past. Try using a later version of easyCD (v5 platinum is a good one).

Quite right modo.
Even if you install easyCD(v5 platinum) along with Nero 5.9 you will get a problem. If you read the setup instructions on easyCD v5 I believe it will tell you to disable other burning application because it will cause conflicts.
Try Recordnow Max this is an excellent program its available for a 30day trial.

You must run the updates for Easy4 in order. A re-install might be a good idea. Just make sure to follow the update instructions exactly. Also Easy and Nero can co-exist on the same machine provided that they are not running at the same time as somebody said above. A workaround for this would be to run MSCONFIG. If you are not familiar with this, read on.
Start > Run > type MSCONFIG > click OK
tick Selective Startup
go to the Startup tab
un-check all burning related apps
click apply and reboot
This will keep them from loading at startup.
