Say like youve got a bunch of over 50 files, of various types, eg- jpg, txt, exe, an dll, an you wanted the program that would compress them by the greatest degree - what would that be??????

I usually find that winace works the best, compared to winzip and winrar.

You can't beat that WinZip works even after the 30 day shareware period though.

You all maybe interested to know when i noticed yesterday that the same arc-file for download was in two formats, ie rar an zip -
rar was 1.40 mb an zip was 1.66 mb !

thus what you found was true, in thats a lot of data you can save when the input files mount up :)

I've always used ZIP *AND* RAR but I've noticed that the RAR format compresses more. I've also noticed that Zip files created in WinRAR compress MORE than Zip files created in WinZip. The only reason I still use ZIP is because it's still pretty common.

Don't know anything about the ACE format. Only ever extracted files from this.
