Question for those in the know:

I just installed an OEM Toshiba 1102 Combo CD-RW/DVD-R drive into my system, and while it seems to be able to read Cd-s and DVDs well enough, my computer won't recognize it as a CD-r. I've tried CDRWin and Adaptec Easy CD Creator, but neither will recognize the drive.

The Toshiba website tells me I need "special software" to access the CD-r functions, but offers no downloads. Can anyone offer solutions?

Try updating ASPI Drivers (http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/drivers_by_product.html?cat=/Product/ASPI-4.70).

Try Nero 5590 (http://www.nero.com/en/index.html#download).
