Mitsumi CR-48X5TE writer isnt working at all. I even tried to put in a normal CD (Andrew W.K.) to try and burn, it gets halfway through and cancels out. I know this isnt my program either, I have tried many, all yield the same thing. I have a really good idea of how this started. I downloaded EZCD Pro 95' from http://www.litespeedcomputers.com/sx/ and I didnt see the warning under the description...:( I downloaded the fix for Windows XP (called Force ASPI I think), since that is my OS, but still things arent working. I later deleted EZCD Pro 95' from my system and I cant seem to burn still. Can anyone help me out here!?!?! Thanks, any responses are appreciated.

Just make 1 thing clear: I didn't give you a bump, I only moved your thread to the correct forum.

Hi Mugsygoten, ezcd is well know for causing problems with some machines/programmes.. as you have found out. What you have deleted will not be the full programme, this programme is also known for leaving registry entries and strings in other programmes, if you go to the ezcd web site there use to be a tutorial on how to remove the full programme, your probs may start if the original entries have been over written, in this instance you may be have to use the recovery (r) option built into XP..

Didn't think the warning was to clear on the site either, a simple bright yellow text would have done rather than deep red on black!!

As a last resort, its gonna have to be a format and restart :(

If I were to buy a new CD RW drive would that solve my problem?

Not if its a software problem no.. As you have already said it all started when you downloaded, and installed? EZCD Pro 95'

If the software re-wrote youre firmware on the burner, then either another firmware write or another burner would fix the problem.

I've not heard of this re-writing the firmware on a burner though.

I was thinking about getting a new CDRW drive, but if that doesnt help...Im screwed. I REALLY need to know how to fix this, if anyone has any other reasonable ideas other than wiping out my HD, I would much appreciate it.
