Try www.richersounds.com. All sorts there starting at £69.95
I've got the Acoustics Solutions 421 and it plays everything. SVCD, VCD, Mp3, DVD-R, is region free and macro free.

caterman,

Can you confirm the 421 is macrovision free ? - is this out of the box or do you need a code ?

Don't suppose you know if it is the same for the 451 ?

Cheers,

Mike

brown bottle. i bought a acoustic solutions 421 after reading some of caterman's comments on it. there is a remote hack for all regions and macrovision off[easy to do], they will give you the codes in richer sounds.im well pleased with mine, its played everything ive put in it. a bargin for £70. if you go to the advance search on r.sounds website you can view the specs and player. so thanks to caterman for his advice.

PSX paul,

Thanks.

I think I'm going for the 451 as it has the better sound capabilites. I think from another thread that it also can have the macrovision turned off.

I'll check before i buy.

cheers

I own a Haier 700(made by Apex), a Apex, a Pioneer 503(5 disc changer) all play vcd's and svcds excellent and all of them I bought for under $100 US. Also the Haier is Macrovison free, with a small file I got off a website.

I have a Dansai 852. Plays the lot and can disable Macrovision. Also oticed an ALBA in Argos for £69.99 too. Very small and slim-looked good but don't know about Macrvision on it.

You might want to read reviews at vcdhelper (http://www.vcdhelper.com/), they tell you all about what DVD players can do and can't do.
