Supp m8's

I have a situation here, I'm running windows xp pro in my pc and running a Personal area network at home with three computer and a router (thanks to cable), so I decided to run an ftp server. I installed bpftpserver into my computer along with dns2go. everything seems to be working fine from home, when i go into my site I can access the folder I'm sharing with no problem. However, when i try to log in from work I get this message:

FTP FOLDER ERROR:
Windows cannot access folder. Make sure I Type correctly and give permission
Details:
The operation time out.

What can be the problem? did i miss anything?? this is my first time doing this. So I'm new, any response will be highly appreciate it.

Sounds like you are just using IE. Try using a proper ftp client.

An ftp client is used to access an ftp server. Although it is quite possible that at work you can't access it due to a firewall, in which case it isn't going to matter which program you use to try and access it.

supp joe, I saw your previous posting on ftp and downloaded dns2go and
bpftserver and i thought it was all i needed.
but if it was blocked by a firewall, the page would display as access denied/ prohibited...but i dont get that...it just says about permissions for that current page...I really suck at this :(
