Just run theSetup from within WinMe, you will be asked if you want to Upgrade (giving you the option to return to ME) or do a complete Install.

If you mean the My Documents etc then no, but it does change things around so some searching will be required to find it all.

Xp will require the reinstallation of some Applications, along with a lot of drivers (you installed the ME versions before, these will now need changing to the XP versions)

For an upgrade, an entry is placed in the Add/Remove box in control panel which enables you to uninstall XP and go back to ME as it was before.

Your Windows folder will be changed/modified.

Good advice is to Always backup your data before making significant changes to your system just in case it goes pear shaped half way through.

Remember to backup not just documents, but emails, favourites, connection settings (telephone numbers) etc. It doesn't take too long and it is DEFINITELY worth doing.

Be prepared for a more than a few bugs in XP though, especially during shutdown, but good OS in all.

Personally, I would recommend (as i'm sure a lot of others would) doing a decent backup of your data and formatting your drive and doing a clean installation of XP.

This is because upgrading from the 9x line of OS's to NT (XP) is going to give you some bugs and incompatibilities.
