HI ,
Thanks for looking at this

Ok my Lite-on DVD has slowed down on the Read, (IT HAD VERY GOOD TESTS SPEEDS)
I tested it with CDspeed and it will only do 15X I tryed Music and Data all the same speed

is my drive going bad or is it a bad setting
I tryed cleaning

I'm running XP pro , and I don't know were the DMA setting are in XP

MY Rig and set up

AMD 1800+
1gig DDR
MSI K7T266 Pro2
ATA 133 PCI card
2 80gig HDD's on the ATA card
Lite-on 16X DVD on IDE # 1 as master
Lite-on 32x on IDE # 2 as master

Does not sound too good. DMA, right open Device manager and click on "IDE Controllers" you will find it there. Also check your BIOS, in some you have to make sure DMA is enabled there also for each drive.

I tryed as you said and ran CDspeed again but still onyl 16X (the DMA was on)

Out of interest I just ran the test in XP myself for the first time. I got 33.76 reading a burned disc that was not that great quality wise.

If I was you I would get the drive changed, it has to be faulty.
