I am looking to purchase a new graphic card & I was hoping for some reommendations.

I do not play any games of any description, I am looking for a card that will give me exttremely high quality dvd playback with tv out.

my system at the moment

Jetway 876as motherboard (has AGP)
AMD 1800xp
512mb sdram
Maxtor 20 gig HD
Guliemot voodoo banshee 16mb PCI
soundblaster 1024 PCI
Liteon 41x12x48 CDRW
compaq 2025 4x DVD rom

If you are absolutely sure you will never play any games at a future date then you should get a Geforce 2 MX 400 with TV-out, they sell for around £40-50 and I don't see why you should need a more expensive one as you are a non gamer. your proccesor is fast enough so playing a dvd with software decoding will not be a problem at all.

I'm not 100% sure but I do think that the geforce mx card has some on board decoding because when i select the hardware acceleration option in power dvd i do see some improvement with this card.

u can get a Abit geforce 2 mx440 for about £55

tv out on the radeons is supposed to be a lot better than the Geforce 2's but for fifty quid you cant do much better than a Geforce 2

get an hollwood magic decoder card for dvd output via tv or the creative DXR3 its a rebadged (HollywoodMagicDecoder) thats what they were designed for high quality tv out, failing that get a radeon with tv out
