Ok, scenario time. Say if i was to set up a computer on windows NT 4 server, and dedicate it as a server for my network, how would i go about creating a domain so that people have to login with a unique username and password to gain access to certain resources on the network. A lot of businesses, schools and colleges use this type of set up, how would i go about doing it on my own network?

The other computers on the network will be running Windows 98 by the way.

Thanks,

Stuart.

You might want to post this in the Computer Networking & Security (http://www.cdrom-guide.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&forumid=36) forum.

Orson88 is correct as usual.
So I'm going to move this to the Computer Networking and Security forum for you. :)

Dead easy, set up a domain using the NT4 server as a PDC (Primary Domain Controller), and add some user names etc.

Set all your PC's to have to log into the domain (Network Properties > Client for Microsoft Networks)

That should be enough to start with

check www.microsoft.com for more info
