Ive been told by a friend the new games that are coming out wont work on the neo 2.2 i actually have the neo 2.2 in mine and my friend is gonna get one on his but he is worried that the new games wont work with the neo 2.2 can anyone help if this is right

unless he has a V5 or above PS2 he is ok.
as a NEO2.2 can not boot DVD-R on these version consoles.
And there are some games coming out that can not be ripped onto CD from DVD eg. final fantasy 10 and metal gear solid 2

Don't throw around "helpful information" when you don't know what you are talking about psibob.

Neo2.2 on a V5 can boot Dvd-rs easily.

The first (and easiest method) is to assist with a knife / cog swap.
The second is to install the 2.2 with ea functionality (before you say this cant be done there are tutorials around, try ************).

I enabled the EA method on my V5 ps2 w/ a neo 2.2 and it works perfectly.
(The mod involves lifting or cuttin pins 5 / 6 from board and soldering them to the chip via resistors [1k / 100k] and back again to the board)

this is all nonesense i have Raging Bless(jap) import which is fairly a new game and using neo2.2 to boot. Neo2.2 does boot dvdrs as well, i think you are not being give the right facts about Neo2.2. trying searching for neo2.2, the only problem somtimes is the EA boot but you can use the dvdr boot with single swap.

My neo2 boots dvd-rs! Along with the Gameshark 1.9. I play all the new games. If my neo2 works why wont the neo2.2?
