datbeast Aug 02, 2002, 04:24 AM Ok:
1. its not my tv
2. its not that the video cable is messed up
3. its never been modded
ok now this is a version1 PS2, im using the original video cable that came with it, and im playing nothing but originals. When playing any game/movie the color is very distorted its really ugly, I dont know whats going on it hasnt effected gameplay, but its effecting how the game look. I tried going in the PS2 menu and fiddling around, but nothing happen. My gamecube color is perfect, but my ps2 isn't. Anyways anyone have any tips. I would really appreciate it
bleepster Aug 02, 2002, 08:51 AM perhaps its loaded up with dust inside and dinking with the mothor board, or perhaps the cables arent not fitting as tight as they should
but i think it may have dust build up inside
Backstar Aug 02, 2002, 09:41 AM It could also be that the tv isn't quite tuned in correctly.
datbeast Aug 02, 2002, 02:28 PM bleepster: maybe I think ur on to something, but dust build up where?
Backstar: Like stated earlier its not my tv
bleepster Aug 02, 2002, 02:58 PM look in the back of the ps2 - you see vents - i would get some air and blow it out, make sure its unplugged from the outlet tho.
or better yet - take the cover off and blow it out that way
can open your tray and blow it out that way too
(dust build up inside on the mother board or other components)
datbeast Aug 02, 2002, 08:36 PM nope that aint work, I know its something wrong with the motherboard!
tinhdonphuong2 Aug 02, 2002, 09:32 PM if u have speakers set close to your tv, that may be the problem, or make sure your tv isn't pal or something/

PSM2 Aug 03, 2002, 01:08 PM i think its your ps2 has some blown fuses in the mother board, i know its the 1v ps2 so its kinda old so anything can happen, check the ps2's mother board and use a muiti meter to check the fuse!! or buy another scart cable!!!
good luck
datbeast Aug 03, 2002, 04:25 PM Ahh thank you! I will try those idea and tell u how everything fares!
wip3outnz Aug 04, 2002, 12:23 AM I must say it's hard to judge without looking at it but try your lead from ps2 to TV. That might be your problem. If not try a multipal of different types of formats. eg ps2 dvd, dvdr, cd, cdr, dvd movies and see if they all have the same problem. Try to narrow it down to something.
See what happens and it no success ring Sony and let them work it out.
Let us know how you get on mate.
