Need to know, i want to buy my younger cousin some movies that are on VCDs, will they work on his PS2?

Sorry no vcds work on the PS2!
Next time just do a search for 'vcd'. As there are loads of posts that cover this topic and plus the mods don't like these questions posted over and over.

Actually he couldn't do a search for VCD (as it's only a 3 letter word...)

yes yes my bad, i did do the search and as konga pointed out it gave that error. The faq list is soooooooooo long.....enough said.

You can run them on a Dreamcast but you need a certain boot disk and they run a bit slow, if thats of any use to you.

There is a tutorial on how to make short clips to work on ps2, and I think that if you make some miner changes.... it might make a vcd that will work on ps2...
I havent tried that yet because i dont have cds at the moment........

Look I'll give you some advice, just buy a cheap dvd player such as : Apex or something


they only cost around $60-$80

Just make sure its MP3 Compatible, if its MP3 compatible then it will play VCD's Fine!

i just watched austin powers "goldmember" on the ps2, it was on dvdr and the quality was crap (probally vcd) so somebody has managed it !

OR u could just buy a real vcd player i got an apex 1100 from walmart for only like $68 ..plays all the great

no that was on dvdr not cd so you payed probley £10 for it when it would of cost you £4 to see it and just stick a camera on your back lol

the cd vcd has just been converted in format and burnt onto dvd vcd

pointless untill dvd become cheaper
