mikey99 Aug 03, 2002, 01:07 PM I am thinking of buying one of these , can anyone tell me how long it takes to copy a full DVDR with say MP£s from your hard drive ? thanks ellal Aug 03, 2002, 01:59 PM if you record using the cheaper dvd-r's the 104 records at 1x and a full dvd takes about 1hr. if you use expensive blanks at 2x then the recording time is halved. if you're in the uk the drive is now under £200 at www.121cdr.co.uk duffy90210 Aug 03, 2002, 02:02 PM Moving to DVD .... mikey99 Aug 03, 2002, 02:07 PM So what blanks do you recommend mate ?? not Bulkpaq ? I am in the UK and was going to buy from 121 cheers Gazanimal Aug 03, 2002, 05:21 PM Cheap option is the new Gen 3 Bulkpaq. Fair priced option is either Datasafe Gen 3`s or White Label Media Gen 3. Fastest but costly option is Datasafe 2x (half an hour ish to burn a full disc) I`ve used all 4 types & upto now Datasafe Gen 3`s or WhiteLabel media are very reliable but I`m just testing the new Bulkpaqs & been very impressed & had no duff discs yet. When 2x dvd-r`s come into a decent price range & have the reliability of the 1x then most people will move across to `em. Just my opinions & findings but other people will disagree so your best bet is to try a few of each & see what your system likes/dislikes & find out for yourself. Matt Aug 04, 2002, 09:06 AM The media depends more on your playback dvd player than the 104/A04. My 104 records OK on all media I've tried, but my Toshiba SD210E dvd player only likes White Label dvd-r so far. The rest play back with different results, ranging from accasional artefacts to crashing within 30 minutes. Try a few brands before you buy en batch..... ;) |
