ive just bought myself a pioneer 104 and ive installed it
i read somewhere that windows 98 is not very good for burning dvd movies and dvd games is this true?
i also read that it is best to format your hd as ntfs instead of fat32 is this also true?? if so why
can anyone help me?

you need Windows XP and to convert the drives to NTFS. When ripping FAT32 will only support 4gig file limit but movies can be a lot bigger before reencoding..

Ive got the 104 mate and had to make the transition to win 2k, its a pile of c**p but if you want to burn over 4gig then thats your option. You can go over to XP but unless your proggys are compatable then its not a good idea. I wish someone could sort out 98se to do the job because its far better from my experience

Win2k is a much, much, much better OS than win98.
Win98 can't handle NTFS because it is a DOS based OS. Unlike Win2k and XP which are NT based.
There are third party programs that will give you access to NTFS partitions under 98, etc. (using NT System files) not sure what kind of access though.
There is however a fair bit you can do without going over the 4gig limit.
