Hi all,
I just installed a Yamaha 3200e (24x10x40x) but it will only burn at around 8x. I have tried burning at 16x, made sure the media supported that speed, etc... but it takes longer than the Yamaha 8824e I just removed from my system. I am using disc juggler, Nero had the same problem, Easy CD Creator won't even recognize the new burner and I'm about to pull my hair out... I have it set up as a slave to my CD rom, any help will be appreciated.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

You might want to switch the burner to master and set the cd-rom to slave. What are the specs on your system? You are burning off the hard drive and not on the fly, correct? You might want to check how fragmented your hard drive is. If you have broadband and download a lot, it can become amazingly fragmented in only a few days.

You might also try different media.
I have a 24x burner and ProMedia 32x disks.
I can only get 16x with this combination.
But with Memorex CDRs I get a 24x burn.

Hm...that's funny
I burn at 24x at all times and no slow downs.

Try enabling DMA, and that might work for you :D

As Badidoh said, sounds to me also like DMA is not enabled.

Moving to CDRW forum..........

Thanks for the replies guys/gals, I've tried setting it up as master, defragged my hard drive, set DMA on and off... let me try some different media.
