Ok I know that this may have been asked everyday for the last 2 years, but is the Plextor 1210a 1.03 Firmware version the only version that can burn safedisk 2? As well if it is is there anywhere that you can still find it? Any links on info for this drive would be a big help. Thanks.

More like the question has not been asked in 2 years.
There is no firmware version for the Plextor 1210a that can burn SafeDisc 2. At least not without the aid of AWS, BetaBlocker, etc. All that stuff about Plextor removing SD2 support were just rumours. Nothing ever came of it.

Thanks Celtic, I guess I will have to read up on BetaBlocker...never heard of it. Thanks for the info.

Just a slight correction to that. My experience is that Plexy 12x with any firmware version can burn SD2 copies that are readable by a Plextor Burner. It can't make SD2 copies that are readable on any other CDROM or burner. It can't accurately reproduce the regular bit patterns used in the error data by Safe Disc2.
Oh and before anyone asks TLA numbers have nothing to do with it either. :)
The Plexy 40x can do universally readable SD2 copies.

Well I went with using Betablocker 1.1 with CloneCD 4 and found that I was able to backup both MoH (SD2.51 I guess) and Op Flashpoint (SD2?). Well anyway I had no problems at all with Flashpoint, but as Darkman said I was only able to play MoH in my Plexy and not my Toshiba. Thanks again for the info all, you have breathed new life into my burner :D
