The drive may need to be partitioned. To create a partition on the drive, run fdisk from the MS-DOS command prompt.
You may be using third-party disk-partitioning software. If you are using this type of software, remove the emergency boot disk and restart the computer. Then follow the on-screen instructions to start your computer from a floppy disk.
Some viruses also cause your drive C to not register. You can use a virus scanning program to check your computer for viruses.

You better tell us, what did you do before you start to get the message, like what program you installed, what program you ran, what new hardware, or what have you downloaded....
mojo13 Aug 06, 2002, 06:42 PM The owner says it just started one day...he shuts down every night and reboots in the morning. At first it was an annoyance but it is now a problem.

Your answers really dont give enough clues to where the problem came from, and when you said at first he said its annoying, and now its a problem, and then you said, one day, it just started to have this error. You have totally confused me on the issue.
Please try to find out more and post back, the answers you get here, are only as good as the information you or him gives.

I've never heard of this one and a web search hasn't helped.
mojo13 Aug 08, 2002, 06:05 PM The file JOKE GESCHENK.A ended up being a joke (Coke.exe) and not a virus. That still doesn't solve the problem though.
What is happening is the computer will go through the POST when booting up and then stop and displays "press delete to continue" Once you click the delete button it will start windows normally. I don't know what is causing that!!! :confused:
The Firemaster Aug 09, 2002, 05:07 AM Ive had 2 pc's lately with the same problem, I ran fdisk and deleted the partition, fdisk again and create primary dos partition, format c:, then reinstall the o/s. I dont think that if it was a virus that it would survive this procedure, just make sure the boot disk u use is write protected.
