hey, my buddy transfer rate for games is hella slow. with the game running off the evoX dash, and his xbox connected to his pc via ftp, he can only transfer games at a rate of 900kb/s. if he's lucky, maybe 1000kb/s. now here's what i'm wondering. could it be because he is running his xbox thru a hub? now my network config is straight xbox to pc via xover cable. at times my transfer rate will go as high as 4500kb/s. could his transfer rate be so slow because he is running it through a hub? thanks.

no, i dont think that hub can be the probelm. At times my u/l and d/l are that slow and i'm running it throught the second nic card.

it depends how fast his pc is.mine tranfers over 6000kbps with xover cable.with a hub not sure you may only get half duplex but with xover i got full duplex.i only got half with a hub.so i got my cash back for the hub got another nic and cross over cable £15

hmmm...well my pc is a piece of crap. i mean, it's decent for how old it is: p1 333, xover cable from nic to xbox, and i transfer pretty damn fast. now my buddy's pc, way better than mine. sony vaio, p4 1.6ghz, and his transfer rate is 1/4 of mine. any ideas?

my buddy isn't using a xover cable. he has a hub, his dsl and xbox cables are plugged into it. then a cable runs from his hub into his nic. he transfers at around 800-900kb/s. my setup is xbox to pc via xover, and i go at at times 4000kb/s. i told him to try just using a xover cable seperatley from using the hub, but he kinda needs to use a hub for playing online and stuff. any ideas?

yeah, he should try with a xover cable. i get around 2000kbs. only other suggestion would be, a new driver for his network card
