I have a pioneer a04 DVD-RW drive and its been working fine. but I switched it to master instead of slave but it started taking forever to finilaze a dvd iso. so I switched it back to slave and its the same. :( I want to get it back to normal. Its set to slave but the games take like 6-8 extra min. to finiliaze the game now. What should I try to do?

that happen to me to.. it has being like that even since I got it...

if you're only burning a small sized game it will takes ages to finalize.

This is because the lead in and lead out takes ages , so what u get is ,when even doing say a 90 meg game it takes longer to do the lead in and out than the game and if u look atr the disk the burn is a lot bigger than 90 meg

hmmm, so you're saying it takes the same amount of time to finalise whatever the size.
It just seems like longer as a higher % of time is spent finalising.

It works good now, I just had to redownload the firmware and reinstall it. It must of got courpoted some how. I had 1.20 and I just downloaded 1.20 off the net and it worked. :) but Now I need to go buy some Apple DVD-Rs becuase the cheap ones suck in my xbox.

Did you ask in the dvd forum about something like this? Don't ask specifically about the games just the writing process.
