I'm about to get a Gameshark v2.01 I think this is the newest one out. Can someone confirm this?

I have a v3 ps2 and a neo2.2 and I want to get into the dvd-r scene since the best games are not being ripped. I have gathered some info out about booting dvd-r with a neo2.2 and I need some confirmation. Before I start spending my money for a dvd-r burner and media.

First of all I need to know does the GS v2.01 boots dvd-r?
I heard v1.7 & 1.9 does.

Also I need to know is this the right procedure? If not can you tell me how. Thx

1. Place your GS2 v2.01 disc into the PS2 & press Reset.
2. Highlight the GameShark Codes, but do not press X yet.
3. Press eject & swap the GameShark disc for the original DMC disc (or other large TOC original DVD).
4. Press eject once more to close the drawer, then wait 10 seconds.
5. Press X, then highlight ARMORED CORE 2.
6. Then press Start on your controller.
7. The screen should now say With Code/Without Code. Highlight With Code and press X.
8. Press X again.
9. Hold down eject until the tray pops out, then swap the DVD with your DVD-R, and let the tray close on its own
10. Press O to go back to main menu.
11. Press X on Start Game
12. Press X on Without Codes
13. Press X again
14. Screen should go black and begin to boot up the DVD-R

I don't think Gs2 v2.01 can do it on a v3. Is there anyone elsewho can confirm this?

You shouldn't have any problems using a GS2 v2.01 on a V3.

BOOTING DVD-R (GS/AR 1.99 - 2.01) With a Neo2.2
1. Turn on the ps2 with GS/AR2 1.99 - 2.01(holding down the ON/RESET)
2. Select WITH CODES (Still Holding ON/Reset)
3. Press EJECT (while still holding the ON/RESET button) and swap GS/AR with DVD Based game.
4. Press EJECT to close (Wait 15 seconds Still Holding ON/Reset)
5. Then Press X (Still Holding ON/Reset)
6. Make sure - GAME is highlighted, Press X (Still Holding ON/Reset)
7. Select (Still Holding ON/Reset)
8. Press X (Still Holding ON/Reset)
9. Press Start (Still Holding ON/Reset)
10. Let go of ON/Reset button and at the same time press X twice
11. Tray will eject, replace with DVD-R
