The /s switch will transfer the system files to c: so that you can boot up from it after formatting. If you are installing Windows, you don't even need the /s switch.

No, he did not know what he was talking about, and I'm serious.
The /s switch in the DOS format command means the system files will be transfered to the formatted disk after it is formatted. This will allow you to boot up the system with that drive.

I believe you'll need more RAM, m8. What CPU speed and how much RAM do you have now? The /s switch just simply does what I said above. It's got nothing to do with slowing down your Publisher operations.

Run NU, click on System Maintenance then select System Information. The Processor tells you the CPU speed and Memory tells you the amount of RAM your system has.

Sounds like you just need to clean out your system, m8. This is what I do -- Clean out my registry by going to "Add/Remove Programs" in the control panel. Delete leftover folders (from uninstalled games/programs) in "Program Files". Go to your WINDOWS folder and delete the contents of your COOKIES, HISTORY, TEMP & TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES folders. Than defragment with a good program like Diskeeper, reboot and you'll hear your system take in a deep, refreshing breath :D
Lmk if you need any help
