Havent posted for a while and nice to be back posting again ;)

Right, it goes a little somethin' like this:

Ive built a new pc which was running fine and my 40x writer was being detected fine and recognising in cd apps that its max burn speed was 40. Ive had to format through one reason and another, and know no matter what aspi layer I install, it insists my writer is 24x max..... Which was the same problem I had before I updated aspi layers previously. Any bright ideas.

For ref, cdrw is liteon 40x and OS is XP.

Any help much appreciated.

bS :)

i had a similar problem to this and it turned out to be the nero software(i was using a cracked version) and always happened after going online a few times.i got the free update and the problem went away.
i doubt this is the problem your having as it was an early 5.5 version i think.
what speed are your cdr disks as this may restrict your your drive.
hope it helps.
