Ive bought a few items from svp and always found their service to be quick and easy. Last week I bought a samsung dvd rom but it had trouble reading my discs so I contacted them and they said send it back and they would change it no probs. I sent it back and asked if I could change it for a liteon 40x 12x 48 writer as I already had one and it was a great drive. They said send cheque for the difference £22 so I did and within two days they sent me my new drive. They didnt have the writer I wanted in stock so they sent me an upgrade to the 48x 12x 48 at no extra cost :) Now to me that is excellent service  Its not often you get places that are so generous. Usually you are kept waiting untill stocks are in etc but not svp. This is the consumers opinion forum and mine is that this place is great. :D

yeah great places, loads of choice and quick, shame the postage is so much for the cds which =1/3 of the price of the cds cost so it bumps it up alot

I`ve been using SVP for some time now and they have always been excellent, had e-mails and problems sorted on a Sunday even changed an order I once sent cause I made a mistake and sent the right goods without me having to pay the couple quid extra.

The only thing that lets em down everytime is the postage, its fine for smaller orders with their economy service being almost next day, but having to spend £300 for free delivery puts them down the list a bit when wcwmedia do similar prices for media with delivery free over £90. I`m sure if they could drop this a little it would help them with even more business.

i agree that svp is brilliant, they've built themselves up very nicely over the last year or so, the only annoying thing is when you try to order over the phone

Only used them once and stop-on. Will definately use them again.

As for the £3-99 postage, its not too bad when you consider you have to pay £2 to £3 enterance fee to a computer show (Where I generally get my disks from).
So £4 from the comfort of your own home !!!!

They're great, easy to use, cheaper than almost everywhere else and definitely the best value around,

(I wish P&P for me was a little cheaper but it's half what ebuyer would charge so not really complaining),

and once when there was a problem my end with an order they emailed me and it was sorted over the phone and goods out within 48 hours,

thanks Steve

have used them a lot, and have had no problems - however, since they've revamped the website, i no longer get 'https...' at the front of the url or 'padlock' icon when sending credit card details - is this a security problem?

ElaineM
Oct 05, 2002, 12:12 AM
I would definitely bring it to his attention since he might not be aware of it. I personally would consider it a security problem. I'm sure that he'll rectify it if you notify him of it.

I agree as well. I use an international VISA as I live abroad even though I have my goods sent in the UK and had NO PROBLEM. Unlike others
mi.......ct.co.uk (no names) that charged my VISA did not sent goods and its two weeks now and I didn't get my money back.

Hi guys.

The site is as secured using SSL, but the page is not contained within "Frames", (The top and bottom border that stay the same as you navigate the site)

The simple procedure below will reassure you that the site is still on an https (secure) webspace.
1) Put your mouse in the centre of the page where you enter the credit card details and right click.
2) Select "properties"
3) Note the pages real address within its properties: https ://www.secpay.com/java-bin/ValCard

SECPay are one of Europes leading companies for processing credit/debit cards online, and with their help we have reduced fraudulent transactions by 90%. There is more info about how seriously SECPay take their business here: http://www.secpay.com/cust_message.html
We pay a lot of money to use SECPay's card authorisation service, but its well worth while, because the security is better than we could do without them.

By the way Elaine....thank you for remembering me:0 Its been a while !
