I'm going to be upgrading my PC in the next couple of weeks and would like your opinions on what I'm looking at.

Mobo-
MSI KT3 Ultra2-$82
CPU-
XP2000+ Retail-$110
DVDR-
Pioneer DVR AO4-$300
CDRW-
Plextor 20/10/40/12A CDRW/DVD rom-$163
HDD-
120GB haven't decided on which one yet
Vid Card-
ATI All in Wonder 8500DV 64MB-$157
Memory-
Samsun Original 512MB PC2700-$125
OS-
WinXP Pro-already have
Sound Card-
Will be using onboard sound for now

I'll be keeping some of my other stuff to use in my new system like the network card, floppy drive, and modem.
I got most of the prices from newegg and googlegear, think the ATI was from compuplus.
Let me know what you guys think of this setup and if you can recomend an excellent HDD for me please do.

Thanks,

For your HD I would recomend the western digital special editionn caviar (the one with 8 mb bufffer) Its the fastest ide drive out. It even rivals scsi dirves. I have and I can really feel its power.

I'll look into that one too, so far these are two that I've come up with; IBM 120GB 120GXP ATA100 7200rpm and a Maxtor 120GB 5400rpm ATA100/133. Any info on these two drives??

I would also reccomend the Western digital special edition Heres (http://www6.tomshardware.com/storage/02q1/020305/index.html) a review and i will also reccomend the Seagate barraccuda which is supposed to be fast and the quiyest drive out there. IBM have not had the beat reliability as of late but the 120GXP is supposed to be alot more reliable then it's predecessors, and if your looking for best speed i would'nt get a 5400RPM drive but if your looking for ultimate reliability thats a different matter.
