ok im sharing my Cable internet with my sister via
crossover cable and my parents want to block some sites for her so she can no longer go to those sites what can i use to accomplish this? and will i need the modem to be in my pc or hers?
Another question is, is their a way to see her msn messenger messages or save them as log files so i can view them? thankx in advance

Easiest way to block her accessing sites is to install a firewall on her PC and block the IP address of the site. This is easy to do with with BlackIce Defender and probably other firewalls too.
As for saving msn messenger message, I think that would be hard to do. The other option you have is to install key logging software which records every key press and saves them all to a log file. I don't know of any free software which can does this without annoying popup's with which she would know what you're upto.
Is your network actually setup now or are you about to do it? If you had the modem connected to your PC then shared the connection with Internet Connection Sharing then you would easily be able to see what sites she is visiting from your PC.

Get her to use Trillian instead of the standard MSN client. This logs all conversations as text files.

Or you could get the Messenger Plus add on which logs, and does a load of other stuff too. get it from http://www.patchou.com/msgplus/
