if your not planning to download then i would get the 128k normally £15 per month

if you plan to download then go for the 512k normally £25 per month

simply put yes

quicker and cheaper than bt

get on that phone to ntl(might take 30mins to get thru but hey itll be worth it :)

year ntl and blueyonder are bith good but dont let them go untill you have checked thet everything on you pc works after they have installed it, as they can **** you about

Would definitely recommend the 512k. It's never as fast as they say it's going to be, but it beats normal dial-up any day. You can download MP3s and films/games at a fraction of the normal time.

Word of caution - NTL customer services is pretty dire. If you can put up with that frustration, then it's worth going for.

yep its frustrating some times but it is worth it , make sure you have antivirus and firewall :)

yep u can , but if they catch ya they give u two warnings then CYA,
also when u do do adjust the registery you get 1mb download sprrd but no uploading ;)

you can adjust your modem to almost anything within cable modem specs.
but it is very likeley that they would catch on if you took it past 1mbit download since that s the highest they currently do.
Oh and even tho my cablemodem diagnostics page says my actuall download cap is 600kbit i wuite often download fastew then that (highest i've seen it go is about 100kbyteish)

where can i get info on increasing, if i took it up to 512 i should be fine?

If you're caught upping your bandwidth you'll be in big trouble guys and according to Blueyonder Technical people you can't do it as its capped at their end, looked at together these two statements contradict each other, I wouldn't try it.

Anyway I had 512 and then I legally upped it to 1mb, for general web surfing and multiplayer gaming you won't see much, if any difference, but for file downloads from a good server I get 120k a sec, a !mb connection is £40 a month and if you use it all the time like me then its well worth it, also I have had no technical problems with my connection at all.

what about with ntl, ok safe

NTL 512mb is cool I had it fer 12months no probs

Get the 512k you won't ever want to go back to a 56k after that!
