You can try a firmware upgrade. I have a website that I used to update my Pioneer AO3 to 1.65. You have to find your brand. Here it is:

You can use a program called 'DVD genie'(do a quick search on google for a download) to alter the region coding of certain software such as winDVD and powerDVD which should solve your problem mate

Thanks guys, I did try DVD Genie but it didn't work, I'll give it another try!

dvd genie dosnt work in 99% of newer drive cases as it is the hardware which is locked not the software which dvd genie fixes,in this case a firmware upgrade and a slightly risky flashing of ur drive is necessary-ive done mine and its exfellent but b careful-read the instructions cos if u do it wrong u r in a whole world of trouble...regards,gsand.
