I’m thinking of buying a Leadtek WinFast A250LE TD MyVIVO (GF4 Ti4200 / 128Mb DDR) TV & DVI - or the equivalent Gainward version.
Does anyone know if ‘nView Display Technology’ can have macrovision disabled (and if so how easily) at the moment I’ve got a crapy Geforce 2 MX and a real magic DVD card. I have the PC on while a DVD is playing on the TV (old TV - no Svideo or scart so therefore go via the Video). This set up works quite well, however I’d like to replace both with the above card, is the Geforce up to the task?

Cheers

Ps, any suggestions are greatly appreciated – I’m also considering a Radeon AIW 8500DV – but I’m not sure about the gaming part???

Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) @ 1.40 GHz
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400
Total Physical Memory: 512 MB
Motherboard Model: ABIT 761-686B(KG7)

After giving this some thought (as no one else has!) I would image its dependent on the software I’m using – for example if the TV out is displaying ‘PowerDVD’ and that software has had macrovision disabled, I assume the problem would be solved…anyone confirm???

Cheers

Hi mate

I'm no expert on this sort of thing but I'm sure I came across someting the other day that said it's not just the software that has the macrovision it can be other components eg the dvd rom etc but I'm not sure if this applies to the actual video card aswell.

good luck with it anyway

I'm using a geforce 4 and use win dvd for playback of DVD's. I have no problems with titles that have macrovision but I use TV tool to maximise the screen size and give a steadier picture.

Records to Video no problem!

Cheers Andyr, Think i'll opt for the Geforce 4 instead of the 8500DV

Thanx Again
