Im thinking of buying an Apex dvd player 2day from Asda, I have read all the Faqs etc and it says that some 512k models cannot be upgraded. What I would like 2 know is wether or not anyone has bought one from Asda and wether or not they have managed 2 upgrade to all region, Thank u very mych for ur time!

The upgrade is only out for the American machines , ( now dont quote me on that ) but im 100% sure that there is not upgrade disk for the uk model as yet.

Im just waiting for the vcd upgrade disk.

I bought the Apex today. I didn't know it didn't play VCDs so I was going to take it back tomorrow. Are you saying there is an upgrade that allows you to play VCDs? If so has anyone found it yet. I'm taking it back tomoroow if I can't get it going with VCDs.

asda says they r going to supply an upgrade disc which they should have by the end of the week (fingers crossed)
anyway some kind person has ripped the firmware from the machine and i'm sure there will be some whizzkid cracking it as i type
