Firstly does it actually work ?

Also do you have to use the disk like a boot cd and put it in everytime you want to watch a vcd ?

If i used a d/loaded and burned update cd and then knackered the player up do you think tesco would replace it,or would they say you can't have your money back because we didn't supply the cd you used.

First of all they do suply the CD so no probs there.

Also once you have burned the bin file you will find full instructions on the CD. Dont use it without reading them as it tells you the proceedure. Once done you will not have to redo. This is a firmware flash the same as any PC drive can be flashed. It's not illegal or harmfull if you do it right. Tesco as a rule are really good about exchanging however if you do mess it up.

Someone on the forum said tesco was now selling the dansai 1010 for £60 but i phoned my nearest store and they are still £85.
I will wait a while to see if they drop the price.

i think its only the tesco extra store's that doin the 60 quid dvd's as iv just got one from the wigan store and done all the vcd upgrades with no probs at all m8

Could someone who has this player and flashed it answer a few questions for me?

MP3 Cds
Audio Cds
DVD-R
DVD-RW
Mpeg files burned as a data cd
Jpeg files burned as a date cd

Also can it be made macrovision free and multi region?

And finally does it convert NTSC-PAL properly. So you dont get a jumpy picture when its playing back.

iv done the update on mine m8 an the only things i aint tried is the mpeg an jpeg files, all the rest play fine.... also it can be made multi region and macro free by accesin the secret menu.... can supply details by mail if you wish
