======BOOTING DVD-R Games=======

here's how to boot DVD-R's I have included three methods. Different gamesharks have different results, so use the one that works best for your Gameshark version.


first method: (Easiest method, works with gameshark-2.0)
1- start gs2
2- press eject
3- insert original dvd (I use DMC Demo)
4- press eject to close tray
5- wait 10 secs
6- Go to "Gameshark codes" and highlight ARMORED CORE 2 and press start
7- highlight start game with codes, press X once
8- press X once more
9- listen.. the cd will stop with the message "too many codes"
10- take your time, and swap the original dvd with dvd-r (pull lever)
11- press O to go back to main menu
12- start game without codes
13- play it


second method (Works for newest gameshark-2.1):

1- Boot Gameshark up.
2- Press eject and put a large original DVD game in, then close. DMC demo is a good choice. (For NCAA 2k3/Madden 2k3 just about any DVD GAME will work fine, probably even most DVD demo games too)
5- Go to gameshark codes, choose any game then the cheat screen will appear. Un-mark one cheat, then mark it back. Press circle to go back to main screen.
6- Click on start game, then click without codes. Will appear a message to confirm with x. Wait.
7- Prepare to make the swap using the lever. Press x then you will hear the DVD stop spinning, then make the swap with dvdr while the "upating list code" screen is showing. You only have about 6 seconds to do this, so do it fast! Once the lever has locked in the game you want to play, simply wait a few seconds, and the game will start up!

Third Method: (USE ONLY IF OTHER TWO DON'T WORK)
boot up game shark,when on main screen put in devil may cry demo(or equivilant DVD game).
go into codes screen and add a new game (you can call it anything)
now add a new code with just zero's in it(you can call that anything).
repeat this 5 or 6 times then press circle and get back to the main screen.
devil may cry(DVD game) is still spinning.now select start game with codes and get ready because when you press x for the final time the disc stops spinning while the dongle updates codes.this gives you 5 seconds to do the swap trick and hey presto the dvdr boots straight up and away you go.

If you have gameshark 1.9 thru 1.99 you can do this:
Start Gameshark
At the first menu, press eject and insert demo disc (give it a few sec to read)
Then choose 'start game', then 'without codes'
At the next screen, swap discs with lever, and insert DVDR
Press 'x' and you will see game start!

It has been confirmed that on some older model PS2's (The first batch Sony made) DVD-R WILL NOT BOOT. These are a very few of the models that have 10 screw holes on the bottom (instead of the standard 6).
It has also been confirmed that some model PS2's will NOT boot DVD-R's that have a label on the top. It is unknown as to what exact reason this is, but almost ALL PS2's will boot a non-labeled DVD-R disc with the above methods.
