I finally opened up my xbox and replaced it with an ATA100 cable, and damn is it fast...anyways, does anyone know if it's possible to replace the DVDROM with another larger HD? meaning trick xbox into thinking there IS a DVDROM but instead it's a large HD?

we can simply put games into diff directories and execute through Evo-X

I'll try it tonite to see if it's possible

No. The power cable has info from the dvd drive that the xbox needs to have & it won't get that with a HD. A WAG

Have fun.

"that little yellow wire connected to the old DVD-Rom, serves as a few things:

a) Power for the drive

b) A extended eject button

c) Sensor(s) to know when the tray is open, and closed

d) Sensor to know when there is a disc in the drive

e) And the E pin I don?t know, maybe has something to do with the original copy protection authentication

What we are going to attempt is to give that yellow wire the information that it wants."
