not sure if this is allowed or not, but Im havin a problem with my pnp key plus mod chip for my ps2........... it plays the originals but not the backups.... can anybody help me????

you have either poor backups or a dirty/bad laser. clean the laser and use verbatim premium plus CDRs only.

yeah but I cant even get it to play psx backups..... backups that I know work

Check out your wire that you use to send the scea signal

also like the madison mods said could be a dirty laser, bad backups, bad media, or a copy made from a scrathced original also

I would try these in this order

1. clean the laser with a cd cleaner
2. clean with alchol and q-tip 91% isopropryl
3. Check the power and ground points sounds like chip might not be getting power
4. check the scea point and also check all other soldering point for wire crimps or continuity where it shouldn't be
5. test out a good original on a verbatim disk over someone elses house to see id my backup is good then try stick into my ps2
6. adjust laser

clean your laser, or it might need a replacement. CD-rs are different from pressed CD's
