my system winme says at boot up "no bios installed-no int 13h devices".
Floppy drive does not work in windows but it does on does. I have taken cables off the floppy drive but still no go. I have SCSI and the floppy is connected to mother board. the SCSC is a tape device and a cd-rom.
I have d/l drivers but was unsucessful in flashing the mother board. I became scared (sniff-sniff). I do not know how to do it. I have no experience in doing this. I c opied the files on the c drive then copied those onto a floppy but computer would not reboot with the flashing diskette.

500 mgz amd

toshida 4ox scsi cdrom

tyan trinity 1590S (DOX)

and to tell you the truth, i donot know what some of this stuff means (dox, etc.)
Help me, I can follow instructions very well once they are clearly given, I follow them to the end.

I have not tried the floppy drive on another computer yet, but will do so this week.

don't update the bios unless you need to for a specific reason e.g larger hard drive support, etc.
the bios not installed message you are getting is probably off the scsi card(i have an adaptec 2940 u/w card that shows this message).
start your computer and press the delete key when the press del to enter bios appears.
in the bios go to the second from the top on the left hand side option and change the boot sequence to a,c,scsi or similar.
now the computer will boot from the floppy drive first.
if the green led light on the floppy drive is always on then the cable is the wrong way around.
hope it helps

if your floppy drive drive works in dos but not in windows then in the bios on the same page as the boot up sequence you previously looked at there is a report fdd to windows (or something worded similar) set this to enabled.
in windows right click on the my computer icon and click on properties and then the device manager tab at the top.
check that there are no yellow or red markers on the floppy disk controllers and in disk drives check that a floppy drive is listed(normally says a generic nec floppy disk).
if there's a yellow marker on either then just click on the re-install driver option and auto search for the driver.
if there's a red marker then the drive is disabled and just click on the box next to exists in all hardware profiles.
in the properties of the floppy disk drive make sure that the removable box is ticked.

also when you boot your computer when does the message no bios installed message appear.
