hi peeps

any info greatly recieved

i've just had my combo drive(samsung) replaced, burn laser u/s.
2 days later after recieving new combo toshiba 1002 has died on me also.
would this be linked to cheapo cdr's( good deal 100 4 £16.99).
mega p****d off any ideas anyone?

only other thing i've done thats common is to try to copy an mp3 to audio cd

thanks in advance

I use cheap discs and have almost 650 burns on my AOpen CD/RW with no probs. My Hp writer burned more than 2k discs before it died.

If they make 2 defective units in every 1000, you were probably just unlucky and got them both.

I burned about 1200 on my Liteon 12X10X32 with no probs using the cheapest media around. I get my 100 packs for about 15 bucks US

Don't think the disks make any difference as long as they're rated correctly. I've burned about 1000 Arita CDR's on my 4x HP burner with no probs so far.
