Can anyone help?
i am having trouble with my Liteon 48125W. I bought one the other day and installed it ok. I already had Nero on my Pc so i decided to burn some data onto a 32x CD (Techno Brand). I burnt a video file at 32x with nero, but it took quite a while to burn it onto the CD. When it had finished I inserted the burnt CD into my CDROM (SonyCDU5211) but the CDROM wouldnt recognise that there was any CD in the drive and askd me to "Insert a CD", so i put the burnt CD back into the CDRW and the video file i had burnt opened up and played. I did this with another data CD, with the Nero that came with the CDRW and had the same problem. Then i tried an Audio CD but i had no problems and the CDROM played the music fine, although it took 19mins to copy the music CD at 32x when it should have taken fewer minutes. Has anyone any ideas why I am having these problems with data CD's in my CDROM and why it is taking so long to burn them when it shouldnt take long?

Also, tonight i installed Clone CD to see if a data cd would work, and i burnt the Nero CD that came with the CDRW just to test it, and it worked. So is it a nero problem? p.s using clone cd also didnt improve the time of the CD burning.

Please help!

hey i just had bought the ltr 48125. i had some problems at first too. i had really slow burning time at first. 5 miniutes. but 19 min. thats bad. what are your system specs. i actually had to go buy a contoller card and put my 2 hard drives on the controller card. at first i had my cd roms on the same two cables as my hard drives. and i could only run my cdroms as masters and my hard drives as slaves. lite-on sugested i put my cd rom adn burner on the same ide cable. but i never had much luck with that kind of configuration. i can now burn a cd in 2:50. thats fast.

i have now resolved the problem with the CDROM recognising the CDR, but the last problem i have is that it takes quite a long time to burn a CD. i looked inside my pc today, on the 1st IDE slot i have my Hard Drive and my 2nd ide slot i have my CDROM and CDRW. I have changed the ide controllers to use DMA and not PIO in the device manager but it still takes too long to burn a CD. (8 mins for 600MB at 32x)
