my 32x writer seems to only be writing at 20-24 speed, which is annoying. Do any of you chaps know what the prob is? I am using clone CD 4.0 so there shouldn't really be a problem..

Thanks

Is DMA enabled??

Is your ASPI layer correct??

Have you defragged your hdd??

Are you burning on the fly???

Is your CDRW on the same IDE as your CDROM/DVD???

Post some more info, system specs etc and you'll get an accurate reply, your post is a little vague.

"Is your CDRW on the same IDE as your CDROM/DVD??"

Even if they are on the same IDE it shouldn't matter since you aren't burning on-the-fly. You might want to make sure that the cdrw and the hard drive are on different IDE cables (those flat cables that connect the drives).

Experiment with other brands until you find the ones most compatible with your burner.
I have some 32x ProMedia that I can only record at 16x, but I can get full speed out of some old Memorex cdrs that I've had laying around since 4x burners were king.
