Half life's Blue Shift

Hi, I am running Windows Me with a Lite-on 40x burner and a Lite-on 163 dvd reader.i have clone cd software. I am trying to copy the game "Blueshift" and the copy gives me a no cd error when I try to play it. I have searched this forum ,but the questions on "Blueshift" don't apply. Is my equipment capable of burning this game correctly,or is it impossible to burn this to play with out using a "no cd" crack? Has anyone done a perfect copy and if so,how and with what settings? Thanks

I believe it is protected with Securom which your hardware is capable of copying.

Hi celtic_druid, well,I have copied the game,but when I try to play it,it says that I don't have a CD in the reader. I would like to make up a 100% backup copy witout having to use a "nocd" crack. Has anyone accomplished this with the equipment that I have? thanks

What settings did you use to copy?? Also it may not run in a CDRW drive, at least not without something like hide CDR enabled.

Hi,I used the options "read subchannel data from data tracks and read subchannel data from audio tracks". I had the reader read at 4x and the writer write at 8x. I had placed the the game cd after burning in the Lite-on dvd player and ran the copy from the reader not the cdrw. I have tried it 4 times with different speeds and media with no luck. Thanks

Have u tryed CloneXXL? That will automaticly set the settings 4 u.

Hi yes, I have used clonexxl,but it does not recognise what type of protection is on Bluehift. I am using Clonecd 4 also. I have tried using both my burners ,a 40x and a 24x Lite-on,a Lite-on 163 DVD and a 6602B Toshiba cdrom. I just cannot burn this Securom stuff it would seem. I think that the same protection is on "Warcraft III" also. I cannot burn that either and it won't play with out a "no cd " crack.

Hi celtic_druid,well,I finally did it,...made a perfect copy of securerom that works without a no cd crack. I downloaded the latest copy of Clonexxl and updated my copy of clonecd and went at it again and burned a good backup of the game. Thanks for all of the help,I just wanted to let you know of the outcome of all this.

Ive done a lot of reading through different forums and you are the first to come right out and say that you have burned a good backup copy of Warcraft III. If you don't mind would you tell me how this is possible ? I have never tried anything like this so a step-by-step would be really great if possible. I've made several coasters (12 or more) and am running out of options.
