I have been using my mitsumi burner now for 2 years without any probs, I have only ever used clonecd version 2.7.8.1 and nero burning rom version 5.0.0.9

I have tried using nero recently (today) (all freaking day actually) :zombie: with no luck at all. In addition to he burner I have a sony cdrom drive. The burner goes thorugh the test phase in nero fine and then appears to starting cacheing for the writing phase but stops at 20% every time, without starting to burn. Both drives are IDE drives. I am using win98se on an AMB K6-2/450 Mhz with 192MB memory. Clonecd also doesnt work now for some strange reason. Therefore its not a prob with software. Im sure its a wrong device manager setting problem, as sometimes i need to change these settings for games to work and change them back for burning. Could someone gimme a clue as to what to do?

Here are the current settings in device manager.

Mitsumi: disconnect checked, nothing else checked.
Sony CDU5211: disconnect checked, nothing else checked.

Here is the message I got from nero:

POWER ON, RESET, OR BUS DEVICE RESET OCCURRED (6:Ox29:OxOO)

Download ASPI 4.71 here (http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/drivers_by_product.html?cat=/Product/ASPI-4.70) to update yours.

Hmm, heres a thought, the only thing I have installed since last time I successfully burned something was warcraft 3 which required the installation of the latest direct X, would that have any effect on my settings or inability to burn successfully any more?

PS. I installed that latest aspi layer also \, but it still dont work.

"Here are the current settings in device manager.

I had this burner also, I always had a tick in the DMA box as everybody says it should be.

I would enable the DMA and try that. ps I never updated my ASPI layers and never had any problems.

If that does not work then uninstall Nero, test clone cd to see if it works and then re install nero.
