you have to hexedit the default.xbe as per below

If you find a game that doesn't work properly when ripped follow the instructions below and it will most likely work:

FTP the files down.

Hex edit default.xbe

Find offset 0X00000214

Change 0020 0000 to FFFF FF00

Save, burn as UDF in Primo, and Play!

its as easy as that

penfolduk, i have the same issue with Prisoner of war - riot rip. What exactly does the above hex edit do? Does it allow the game to be played off hdd?

Why dont you all just download the BETA patcher? it patches any game to make it work on a BETA modchip, no messing round, you load the ISO press patch and its done

Peace

i dont have a beta mod...i run evox mod....so its not a beta mod issue for me....but by the sounds of it, this may fix my prob. Anyone give me a quick run through with WinHex

i used hex workshop it was easier
open default.xbe in workshop
use the GOTO command in the menu and put in 214
change the 0020 0000 to FFFF FF00
save default.xbe
burn game and then it should run

dead easy

OK.ive downloaded hex workshop..opened Default.xbe and appear to have ound offest 214. Prob is i cant see this value of 0000 0020 that you have specified. Should it be visible straight off or is it in another format or do i need to look for it elsewhere? Which window should i see it in..the left, middle, or right window, and how do i change the value...sorry bout the questions...but im just not getting this. Thanks for your help...

when you used the goto command 214 did you change the search function from DEC to HEX underneath where you typed in 214

OK...ive changed the search method to hex and have gotten to offset 214. I see a 2 digit number of 02. In the middle window i see groups of 4 digits, with every pair alligning with a offset number...so offset 214-217 refer to 0200 0000 . How does the 02 at offest 214 relate to the 0020 0000 that im supposed to change to FFFF FF00?

Cheers,

HaZ
