I have just upgraded to the latest nero, version, and when i burn a data compilation, it burns the disc, then it verifies the data for some reason. after burning, it gives a message saying that my recorder needs to blah blah. I have a lite-on 40 x 12 x 48. it only takes a minute or so to verify, but it is still a pain in the arse. can i turn it off?

Isn't there a little box that you can tick/untick when it is burning that says varify data [ ]. There is in my version, just untick it.

As celtic said, all you've gotta do is tick that box. :)

Must say that I'm very impressed with this version so far.

cheers, never noticed the tick box. I agree with you lazza. The old nero was my burning program of choice, and this version is even better. I have been using nero express, and i think it's the mutts nuts.

Yeah, I gave Nero Express a try out for the first time on my son's system and must say I really like it. :)

V6.0 must be very soon now and if I have one major gripe about Nero it's the GUI. I like to use NTI CD Maker Pro a lot, nice & easy on the eyes and everything is to hand. Nero however is all over the shop! Buttons (needless IMHO) all over the toolbar and way too many explorer type situations going on here! :D

Now it's not like I'm some newbie and don't know what I'm doing or anything, but.....I hate using this prog despite it's ability and results because of the GUI. Give me Stomp RNM, NTI or CD Mate anyday for everyday use compared to Nero, they really must sort their act on this IMO.

JM2C & Rant over.

Btw, does anybody else feel the same or is it just me?

I have thought of giving cd mate a try, nut it was one of the many things i never got round to. Is it good? i have heard it is like a mixture of nero and clonecd

One thing I will say about CD Mate is that it is better at burning BIN/CUE's than Nero. I have had dodgy BIN/CUE's where when burnt with Nero, some files would not be readable and the install would fail or slow down to retry on files. Burn the same image with CD Mate and it installs just fine.

Yeah it's not bad at all, I think it's one of those progs that will just get better and better and who knows...maybe one day it might be the burn software to beat.

Personally I don't think NTI CD Maker Pro can be beaten for everyday use because it has pretty much all the features of Nero, well IMHO anyway. I am well impressed with Stomp Record Max Now and have been using that a lot of late also.

At the end of the day it's good to try out any new software to keep you out of a rut and it's nice to find the odd gem that you would never have known about otherwise. :)
