Hi

I dont understand what I'm doing wrong. I've got a swicth. I've connected my pc to one of its ports and my xbox to another. (Im not using crossover cables since I already use a swicth). Anyways, I go to evox menu, and I have a xbox IP. then I type my pc's IP as gateway there. when I use flashfxp to connect I get:
Connecting to 129.130.69.0
Connection failed (No route to Host)

when I ping that IP I get: destination host unreachable

What am i doing wrong? (PS: dont refer me to tutorials'n ****, cuz the one on xbox-scene dont work and Ive read related topic on this forum already) :)

1)are you booting from the cdrw or your xbox hard drive?
2)are you running any kinds of firewall?
3)after you go to network (in evol-x dashboard) do you see a blinking dot. on your xbox ip address? if not make sure it blinking by rebooting it

if you are running evol-x from the hard drive that means you succesfully logged into your xbox before (cause that the only way you could've installed the evol-x dashboard) so make sure you check all the connection again including the ip address you entered on flashfxp

man i running out of idea cause i never used a switch before so i dont know its anything like a router.

ok i guessing your trying to backup a game so let try this.... turn off your xbox (make sure you remove the dvd games from tray) then turn it on again with the xbox dvd tray open. now let it boot into the evol-x screen then close the dvd tray with the dvd game in it (but make sure you dont dont do anything else just close the tray dont go to network or press any buttons) then go into flashfxp and try to log into your xbox

What ip have you assinged yuor xbox and pc mate..looks like youve got IP's on different ranges or subnets, judging by the error your getting. Best way if you dont have DHCP is just assign the PC IP of 192.168.0.1 with subnet of 255.255.255.0 and assign xbox IP of 192.168.0.2 with subnet of 255.255.255.0 and gateway of 192.168.0.1.

My xbox shows this as IP: 129.130.69.0 . It says static.
My pc's IP I chose myself I think I chose 129.100.100.100. I didnt chose my xbox IP it showed itself there :)

I said: my xbox IP is not chosen by me. It was there. The only thing I chose is the PC ip which is used as gateway in xbox evox menu

hmmm.. i guess its best for you to ask the person who installed for you to show you how he did it

the issues lies in the fact that you have ip's on different subnets. Change your PC ip to 129.130.69.1. make sure it also has the same subnet mask as your xbox.

it should be under the ip address in the network setup. If you kwo how, assign the ip's i specified in my first post on page 1. That should work no probs.

hi toofan, i'm sure hazzad66 is telling u the proper way to do it, but just try rebooting ur xbox (cold boot, off, on) a few times untill u get sommat like.. '192.168.0.xxx - dhcp server' in evox network settings (where xxx is the last set of digits or digit).. then, in flasfxp, click.. 'connect', then.. 'quick connect', type ur ip into the.. 'server or url' field, make sure.. 'port' is set to 21, and.. 'anonamous' is checked, then just click.. 'connect' all being well u should now be inside ur xbox, goto the d:\ drive and let her rip...

i got 3 machines running thru a hub, 2 pc's and the xbox...this works ok for me

Arhur_p_huxake - that would work fine assuming Toopfan was running a DHCP server. But im guessing hes not, given the array of ip's hes using, plus the fact that he assigned his PC ip. So he could turn his xbox on and off until it blew up and he still wouldnt get a dhcp address. A DHCP server would be his best long term solution as there is no maintenance after its setup, but it depends on his setup and whether he could be bothered having one setup. In the short term, a static assigned private IP range will do the job.

got it to work. the problem was the IP I chose for my pc.... way too off range I chose one with 1 isntead of 0 as last digit & it worked :)
